Forbes was strongly represented by 16 athletes at the Regional Little Athletics Carnival in Dubbo on Saturday February 2 and Sunday February 3.

It was an extremely hot two days of competition and there were more than 20 teams represented from across the Western Plains and Western Ranges area.
Forbes' athletes were part of 136 young athletes from around the region who were registered to compete. They ranged in ages and competed in a variety of events, with the whole team participating well.
The athletes from Forbes performed extremely well and many breaking their personal best times in running or the field events.
The Forbes Little Athletics team were Peta Allen, Jessica Tudgey, Jackson Dukes, Shakira Dukes, Josie Watson, Ella Cannon, Beth Cannon, Indy Maynard, Brock Maynard, Zara Paradowski and Jai Wheeldon.
Five athletes from Forbes Little Athletics managed to get medals over the course of the competition.
Will Watson secure third place in High Jump and third place in the 60m Hurdles.
Laine Jackson came second in the 70m sprint. Jackson Beaudin received second place in the 400m and third place in the 800m.
Laura Chudleigh came first in the Long Jump second in the 80m Hurdles and third in the 200m event.
Beau Wheeldon won his 100m race, came second in Long Jump, first in the 70m sprint and came second in the 200m race.
Beau Wheeldon also managed to break a record in the 100m sprint with a time of 14.64sec
Laura Chudleigh, Beau Wheeldon, Jackson Beaudin and Laine Jackson all qualified to compete in the State Little Athletics Championships.
To qualify for State Championships you must be in the top two for any event. The championships will be held on March 14 and 15 at Sydney Olympic Park
Forbes Little Athletics is nearing the end of this season but will be back in October for the 2020/2021 season.
Forbes Little Athletics hold meets every Tuesday night at the Botanical Gardens in the Spring/Summer season, from October to March.
The club ranges in ages from three-year-olds right up to under 17 years.
Among the athletic components the club offers include a variety of running events with the 50, 100, 200 metres, as well as shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, and high jump.
