With 60mm of rain in the drawing area over the weekend numbers showed another decline to 230 at the cattle sale on Monday, April 6.
Quality was mixed with a larger percentage of plainer lighter cattle penned.
Most of the usual buyers were in attendance along with restocker competition in a market described by agents as firm to slightly easier but affected by reduced numbers.
Yearling steers were limited in number with restockers active on the plainer types and paid from 330c to 453c/kg.
Finished types to processors reached 330c with those to feed selling to 268c/kg.
The heifer portion to restockers sold from 250c to 373c. Feedlots paid from 320c to 380c with the finished types to processors receiving from 270c to 389c/kg.
Cows eased 2c to 3c with the best of the heavy cows receiving from 250c to 276c/kg.
Lighter store type cows attracted restocker competition and reached 310c/kg. The best bull reached 275c/kg.
After last week's price rises, numbers jumped sharply to 15,450 with lambs showing the biggest increase at the lamb and sheep sale on Tuesday, April 7.
Lamb quality was described by agents as the best yarding in a long time with good numbers of quality finished lambs offered.
The usual buyers were present and competing in a stronger market.
Restockers were active on the plainer types paying from $85 to $196/head.
Trade weights were $5 to $8/head better with some of the better quality lambs lifting more. Prices ranged from $190 to $215/head.
Heavy lambs were $5 better to receive from $215 to $235/head.
Extra heavy weights showed the biggest change jumping $10 to $12 on a quality offering to range in price from $230 to $290/head.
Mutton quality was fair with some good lines of sheep available. Prices were $5 to $10 better with the best ewes reaching $250 and wethers.
