What a wonderful milestone to reach, with birthday wishes coming in via cards, telephone calls and dozens of well wishes on Facebook.
Ruth's family gathered at her home on Friday evening for a birthday dinner and to enjoy the celebration crouquembouche cake which was made by Hazel Jones.
Many friends called in on the day of Ruth's birthday and over the weekend to mark the special event.
Self-care units AGM
The AGM of the Eugowra Self Care Units was on August 25 with the following executive elected:
President: David Hyde, Vice President Hugh Ellis, Secretary: Nicole Brindle, Treasurer: Margaret Tildsley, Hon Auditor: Tim Cheney, Committee- David Hyde, Kerry O'Malley, Elaine Cheney, Margaret Tildsley, Hugh Ellis, Judy Smith, Michael Hanly and Nicole Brindle.
The executive is preparing a document to survey local residents pertaining to their interest in building further self-care units. It is hoped this will be available in September.
Passing of Patricia Lorna Gilmore
Family and friends of Patricia Lorna Gilmore of 'Kiembah' Gooloogong were saddened to hear of her passing on Tuesday 1st September at the 'Bilyarra' Aged Care Hostel at Cowra.
Patricia, who turned 79 on August 26, was predeceased by her husband Bob and is survived by her son Craig, son and daughter- in-law Scott and Lisa, grandchildren Jacinta, Toby and Matt and great grandson Tate.
Siblings who survive her are Ruth Clemens, Stan Rawsthorne and Dora Gilmore.
The funeral service for Patricia will be held at the Orange Crematorium at 10-30am on Monday September 7.
Patricia, or Pat as she was more commonly known, was a member of the large Rawsthorne family of Eugowra. Siblings who predeceased Pat were Ernie, Jack, Bill, Leila, Clare, Alan, Ev, Joe, Mick, Viv and Neville.
Pat grew up in Eugowra, attended the local Public School, worked on the local telephone exchange before marrying Bob Gilmore and moving to Gooloogong.

Major Singles: Greg Weekes defeated John Dukes 31-28. Max Weekes defeated Warwick Neville 31-6. Colin Smalley defeated Jeff Herbert 31-16.
Pairs: Chris and Mitch Hodge defeated William Cox and Geoff Flannery 19-16. Matt and Max Weekes defeated Bridget Simmonds and Tom Riley 23-12.
The Bowling Club is open from 3pm weekdays and midday weekends with Covid 19 regulations in place.
The Club AGM is on Sunday September 6 at 11am. All financial members are invited.
