But that did not stop bowls from being played throughout 2020 at the Forbes Sports and Recreation Club highlighted by presentations for men players after the much anticipated Champion of Champion final between Leisa Burton and Brian Asimus, won by our ladies champion.
Play is all set to commence for the the 2021 season from next week with regular social comps on the agenda before competitions are drawn at a later date.
2020 champions, and runners-up, presented by men's bowls club secretary Viv Russell, were:
- Major Singles - Brian Asimus r/u Lindsay Willding.
- Major Pairs - Brian Asimus and Scott Andrews, r/u Christian West and Lindsay Willding.
- Major Triples - Peter Mackay, John Kennedy and Laurie Crouch, r/u Alf Davies, Viv Russell and Robert 'Bert' Bayley.
- Major Fours - Christian West, Brian Asimus, Scott and Mitchell Andrews, r/u John Cutler, Paul Baker, Laurie Crouch and Lindsay Willding.
- Minor Singles - Warren Keep, r/u Peter Hocking.
- Minor Pairs - John 'Gunna' and Geoff Williams, r/u Ron Thurlow and Grant Lambert.
- Minor Triples - Bob Grant, Ivan Hodges and Peter Hocking, r/u 'Gunna' and Geoff Williams and Lawrence Jackson.
- Minor Fours - Denny Byrnes, Mike Valentine, Ivan Hodges and Peter Hocking, r/u Peter White, John, Scott and Wayne Burton.

As mentioned above all social bowls back on the agenda with Wednesday morning bowls for men with noms from 9.30am for a 10am start, all welcome.
