Cricketers from around the region gathered in Forbes' Grinsted Oval on Sunday, January 17 for the Grinsted Cup's centenary match.

The 50 over exhibition match was won by the Western squad which was comprised of players from Forbes, Parkes, Condobolin, West Wyalong and Trundle.
They went up against the Eastern squad which was comprised of players from Cowra, Grenfell and Molong.
The Eastern squad won the toss and elected to bat first. They finished the first innings having lost nine wickets for 134 runs, ending with a total of 9/134 out of the 50 overs they played.
Charlie Mitton and Oldham opened up the batting for the Eastern squad, making 4 runs and 9 runs respectively before being caught out.
The highest scorer for the Eastern squad was Mikey MacNamara who was run out for 66 runs.
The Eastern squad's next highest run scorer was Zach Starr with 22 runs.
The Western squad's best bowler was Jamie Hoswell who claimed three wickets for just 20 runs. Blake Smith also made a good showing, bowling four maiden overs, claiming one wicket and conceding only 12 runs in 10 overs.
Other notable bowlers for the Western squad was Phil Dunford who claimed a wicket and bowled three maiden overs. He conceded five runs in the five overs he bowled.
The Western squad took to the crease after lunch and finished up the day having lost four wickets for 138 runs. They claimed the win with a total of 4/138 out of 27 overs that they played.
The opening bowlers for the Western squad were Andrew Brassnett and Jamie Hoswell who scored 47 runs and 33 runs respectively.
The highest scoring batsmen for the Western squad was Blake Smith who scored 48 runs.
Bowlers Harrison Starr, Mikey MacNamara, Tim Milne and Ethan Gray each claimed one wicket. Mikey MacNamara conceded only two runs in the over he bowled.
Event organiser Ross Williams said it was a good day of cricket for everyone involved.
Mr Williams said most of the players were highly focused during this game as they were in teams cricketers that they don't normally play with.
