"I can see the benefits of fairway watering while the greens and surrounds are absolutely beautiful. This is a great vets tournament," she added.
While competition was played over four days in Forbes and one in Condobolin last week there were winners for a host of events with play for the NSW Veterans Shield last Friday holding most interest.
All competitions were played in stableford points on handicap where visitors showed the benefits of earlier games on the testing and long Forbes layout in shield results.
Ladies winner was Denise Flavell from Bermagui with 35 points, runner-up Aileen Williams with 33 points.
In the men's division Ian Jordon from Richmond scored his best round for the week with 39 points from local hope, the very consistent Barry Parker on 37 points.
Forbes vets president Peter Barnes was also more than happy with results from the week which he pointed out not only benefits the FGA but the whole district as well.
"We had full fields every day which is as good as you can hope for," he said.
"I'm certainly happy, it was very successful. There are plenty to thank. This tournament would not go ahead without what Beryl (Roberts) does, and that of her husband Lin.
"Also there helping the whole week were Ros and Steve Edwards from Bogan Gate and other volunteers, to many to mention.
"With glowing comments from many thanks to course curator Justin Clarke, his staff and volunteers, the 'Golfie' Hotel and the Pro Shop staffs.
"Best of all, quite a few said they will be back next year, looking forward to it already," Peter added.
