We're talking about Lynnie and Lindsay Willding who combined like they have many times while touring Australia to take out the major prize in the $3000 two-day tournament last weekend with 5 wins, plus 67.
Organiser Leisa Burton said this week it was great to see the local players amongst the prizemoney while at the same time thanking all who travelled to play.
"It was a fantastic weekend, the weather was magnificent, the hospitality shown by members in the club was absolutely great, and 'Scooter' (greenkeeper Scott Andrews) and his volunteers had the greens and surrounds looking as good as you would want.
"All in all everything came with approval by many. It must have been as a host of visitors said they would be returning next year and with more players. That in itself was a glowing comment and good to hear," Leisa said.
Competition in the mixed tournament attracted 32 pairs despite late scratchings due to covid playing over 15 ends on Saturday followed up with two 15 ends on Sunday morning followed by a presentation dinner.
Forbes club champion Brian 'Spro' Asimus teamed with Connie Rutherford form Wagga to run second (5 wins, plus 65), third Leisa Burton and Mark Gorrie (Forbes/Dubbo Macquarie - 5 wins, plus 56), fourth Sharon and Colin Hubber from Cowra.
Round winners - 1st round Ned and Narda Kurta (Manildra/Cowra), 2nd round Marilyn and Glen Seaton (Condobolin), 3rd round Jason and Erin Dukes (Yass), 4th round Mel Wilson and Chris Wilkes (Forbes/Molong), 5th round Lyndy Cannon and Greg Gunn (Forbes).
"I would like to mention the hard work done by the ladies over the weekend, I couldn't do it without them," Leisa added.
"My hearth-full thanks to Lesley Dunstan, Sandra Priest, Jill Taylor, Ann Mackay Sue White, Loris Stewart and Mel Wilson and to the men that helped as well, Peter Mackay, Ray Dunstan, Bill Stewart and Rob Priest.
"Also a very big thanks to our sponsors, Beaumont Tiles Dubbo, and Teri and Mark Gorrie.
"Next on the ladies calendar is the Ladies Pairs (date to be set). Happy bowling and see you on the green somewhere," Leisa said.
Club championship games are expected to be back in full swing this weekend for men with play in both Major and Minor Singles holding most interest.
Wednesday: David Williams may have let a few go the wrong way last week but in the end he proved a perfect lead for greenkeeper and Major Singles hot shot Scott 'Scooter' Andrews winning the card draw for Wednesday social bowls.
Despite the score 27-16 over Geoff West and Barry Wright in a game lasting 20 ends all enjoyed a change in weather to recent wet weeks. The experience of 'Scooter' told in the end as he and partner David led 10-4 after six then 25-12 after 16.
A two on the last of 22 ends was enough for Michael Coles and Ray Drabsch to win 17-16 over Laurie Spackman and Paul Doust. The scores were kept low with twos the best as the winners held a slight lead of 8-7 at oranges and 13-12 after 17 ends while they shared points on the closing five ends.
Another game to be decided over the last ends resulted in John Brown and Christian West holding out Ray Dunstan and Lindsay Wellding who scored three on the last two ends but went down 23-21 in a game over 22 ends.
The winners led 13-8 after 11 ends while Ray and Lindsay did hit the front after a five on end 17 for a one shot lead, 18-17, to set the scene for a close finish.
In a game of triples John Baass, Sid Morris and Scott McKellar won 15-10 over Mel Wilson, Fred Vogelsang and Rob Priest.
Skip Scott and team kept their best for last, a five on end 16 to seal the win. The game was just as close all the way, 5-3 to the McKellar combination after five ends then 10-6 after 12 prior to that last losing end.
Another close encounter saw Bill O'Connell and Grant Lambert up 19-17 over Noel Jolliffe in a game lasting 20 ends. Bill and Grant also stormed home being behind 16-1 after nine ends to then dominate 18 shots to one in the last 11 ends.
Two in-form bowlers, Ron Thurlow and Lyall Strudwick combined superbly to win 22-9 over Geoff Coles and Dan Tisdell in a game over 18 ends. They also finished strong with the score 7-all at half time before highlighting scoring seven on the last two ends.
Club president Peter Mackay tried something new in his game with partner Denny Byrnes taking on Kerry Dunstan and Barry Shine.
In the first 11 ends of 22 skips were Peter and Barry, the next 11 ends had Denny and Kerry as skips. The change in format was welcomed by all four, especially Kerry and Barry who combined well winning 32-17.
Wednesday bowls for all, noms from 9.30am for a 10am start. Good luck on and off the green to all bowlers, remember covid regulations in and out of the club.
Thursday afternoon saw 24 bowlers take to the greens for a great afternoon.

Eddie and Peter picked up a couple of points on the 7th and 8th end but John and Lindsay soared ahead to win the game 23-10.

Kerry Smith and Christian West took on Bobby Grant and Bill Adams. Kerry and Christian flew out of the starting boxes picking up 5 points in the first 2 ends. Bobby and Bill answered the challenge and won 5 ends in a row to gain 10 points. With a score board showing 11 all on the 11th end the game could have gone either way but it was Kerry and Christian doing the victory lap winning the game 27-11.
Alf Davies and Darryl Griffiths came up against John Cutler and Cliff Nelson. John and Cliff picked up a 5 on the 2nd end and 3 on the 3rd. Alf and Darryl had to pull their socks up. Sunday: A great roll up for the Mixed Pairs Carnival meant we had limited space for Sunday Morning Bowls. We still had 12 keen bowlers that came down to have a great morning.
Barry Anderson and Al Smith teamed up against Julie Shaw and Russell Hodge. Julie and Russ were first point scorers but Barry and Al came through on the 2nd end picking up a 6, then went on to carve out a 15-2 lead by half time. Julie and Russ had to talk tactics and that worked as they came out to win the next 4 ends in a row. That's where their luck ran out and Barry and Al won 23-7.
Norm Cook and Tara Shaw took on Alan Affleck and John (Slippery) Ward. Norm and Tara got on the board first and looked promising but that's where the fun stopped for them. Alan and Slippery picked up 7 points over the next 3 ends and were pretty comfortable sitting at 12-3 at half time. They won 31-5.
Laurie Spackman and Al Phillips teamed up to have a crack at John Ashcroft and John Cutler. It was certainly the morning of the "Johns". They won 7 of the first 8 ends going into the 8th end 10-1, taking the game 16-8.
