Due to the ongoing lockdown, Rotary Ipomoea's September markets have been cancelled and the decision is yet to be made on whether the October markets will go ahead.
The Rotary Ipomoea Club of Forbes will provide an update on their October markets by the end of this month.
Forbes Rotary Ipomoea's Therese Newell said that with quite a few stall holders coming from surrounding towns such as Parkes and Orange this might affect whether next month's markets go ahead or not even if Forbes comes out of lockdown orders.
"Unless the towns around us come out of lockdown as well, the markets might not go ahead," she said.
While their regular monthly markets are in doubt due to ongoing lockdowns, the club has been able to support several Rotary projects throughout the year.
One of their projects this year is to restore the Memorial Gardens at the Jemalong Retirement Village.
Rotary Ipomoea began restoration works on August 7, but since lockdown orders were implemented are waiting to continue their work.
Mrs Newell said they are looking forward to going back to see the progress on the Memorial Gardens.
Forbes Rotary Ipomoea, along with a number of other Rotary Clubs in the area, has also donated to Shelterbox Australia who is providing emergency accommodation to many homeless families after recent earthquake in Haiti.
Mrs Newell said that part of they do in Rotary is to help others in need.
Along with supporting local projects such as the garden restoration and fundraising projects such as Shelterbox Australia, Forbes Rotary Ipomoea have been sponsoring Erik in his studies as a student at the School of St Jude in Tanzania.
As they are a smaller club, Mrs Newell said they help out where they can with projects such as the garden restoration and with Shelterbox Australia.
Mrs Newell said they have had community and local business support for their projects which they are grateful for.
The Forbes Rotary Ipomoea usually have a donation stand set up at their monthly markets to support Shelterbox.
