Much anticipated finals didn't disappoint

Wednesday's division was Roaches versus Cogswells, third and fourth placed teams.

As first and second placed teams were eliminated in the semis you might say all bets were off.

Sadly line one was a no game but all other matches were ready, set and go. First on, Noah Bentick and Nate Markwort had a massive match which went set for set.

Noah was initially down 9-15, 13-15 but evened it with 15-13, 16-14 then he romped home 15-8 set five making Roaches 4 points to Cogswels 3. Luke Bilsborough lost to George Falvey 1-3 but Greg Ridge beat Matt Wright 3-1 giving Roaches 11 points to Cogs 10.

Hunter Bilsborough beat sub Cameron Webb 3-0 but Jordon Wright bowed out to Louise Webb 0-3 maintaining Roaches 1 point lead 18 to 17.

Last off the blocks was Georgia Bayley and Sam Webb, Georgia was defeated 3-1 so 'low and behold' Cogswells, the lowest placed team for the semis found a way to snatch the win making them Wednesday's summer comp champs for 2024.

Now Thursday's finalists were actually first and second placed teams Pipers and Dawes and it was a close final, let me tell you.

Jono Cannon won in the fourth set 15-13 against Brendon Allegri, Dennis Haynes likewise scored a tough four set win against sub Will Markwort giving Dawes a good early lead 10 points to 4.

Ben Brace lost 0-3 to Anthony Trotter and Ben's captain Oli suffered a nil to three loss also to Darryn Piper switching the lead to Pipers 16, 12.

Cam Dale and Adam Chudleigh's five set effort went Chuds way 3-2 and Lawry Brayne managed to defeat Shanna Nock 3-1. So, when the dust settled folks Dawes had lost, 20 points to Pipers 22 mirroring Wednesday night's score margin and making Pipers; Thursday night summer comp kings.
