Man dies after alleged 'prolonged' torture on regional property

Emergency services were called to the Mclean Road property in Mount Mee, Queensland at 8.30pm after receiving reports of an assault on May 1.

The 23-year-old Eagle Farm man was found alive but suffering serious head injuries at the scene. He was taken to hospital where he died on May 3.

Detective acting inspector Joe Zitny said the man's multiple injuries "occurred over a reasonably prolonged period of time".

He said the two alleged killers and the victim were known to each other, as well as being known to police.

Police have charged two people at the property, a 21-year-old woman and 23-year-old man, with a list of serious offences.

They were both charged with murder, torture, grievous bodily harm, common assault, wounding and unlawful possession of weapons.

They were charged with depriving the man of liberty as well as recording or observing his body in breach of privacy.

The woman was also charged with serious assault of a police officer.

The pair faced Caboolture Magistrates Court on May 3.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack remain ongoing.
