Forbes residents will be part of the Orange electorate at the next state government elections, under a redistribution of boundaries finalised this week.

Forbes Local Government Area (LGA) is still part of the Dubbo electorate, represented in parliament by The Nationals’ Troy Grant, but will switch to Orange for the next election, expected to be in March 2015.
Orange, Parkes and Forbes will be the three largest centres in the new electoral district, which will also include Eugowra, Canowindra, Cudal, Manildra, Molong, Cumnock, Bogan Gate and Trundle.
Tullamore, Peak Hill and Yeoval are also inside the Orange boundaries, which currently has a population of 52,763 enrolled voters.
The electorate’s population is expected to increase to 53,780 by the next state election, but this will still be well inside the 10 per cent variation allowed under the redistribution.
Under the redistribution guidelines announced earlier this year, each electorate should have about 52,770 eligible voters.
The Nationals also currently hold Orange, with Andrew Gee representing the electorate in the Legislative Assembly since March 2011.
NSW Governor Professor Marie Bashir, officially proclaimed the new electoral districts on Thursday.
