Last weekend four local Forbes members of the Midwest Drag Racing Association again made the long trek down to compete in round five of the NSW Track Championships at Sydney Dragway at Eastern Creek.

Michael Little, Joel Duggan, Ben Scott and nine-year-old Claire Little competed at the event which is a points series held over nine rounds throughout the year. The series attracts more than 200 cars and motorbikes in various classes from all over the state.
The youngest of the racers Claire Little was entered in the junior dragster class which is for children between the ages of eight to 16 years old.
Claire’s uncle Michael Little said she competed strongly.
“This is Claire’s first year of racing and Saturday saw her get through to the second round of eliminations,” he said.
“Well done Claire.”
Joel Duggan had his first meeting back in his Torana after a break from racing and he raced in the super street class for cars between 11.00 and 12.99 seconds over the quarter mile (400m).
Ben Scott had some success on the day, going through four rounds of eliminations to get the runner-up trophy in his Commodore in the final of top sportsman class for cars 8.99 seconds and faster.
Michael Little, who last year placed third in the NSW Drag Racing Championships, raced his Torana in the super Sedan class for cars 10.99 seconds and faster.
After five rounds of eliminations Michael was able to get the winners trophy in the final and gained valuable points in his chase in the series.
Alongside the racers were over 20 Forbes locals who travelled to Sydney to attend the event and Michael said the support on the day was fantastic.
”Thanks to the 21 people that travelled to Sydney,” he said.
“These crew members are friends and family who help support our local Forbes racers at the track on race day.”
