Forbes Magpies under 14s and under 16s have joined Red Bend’s under 12s and 14s in the grand finals, to be played at West Wyalong’s Ron Crowe Oval.
Forbes Magpies women’s league tag side may also yet earn a place in their competition decider after a final replay was held at Parkes last night.
The women’s tag match between Magpies and Condobolin was rescheduled after a controversial decision in the final played at Condobolin last Saturday.
There was no dispute with other games involving the Forbes club, with the Magpies under 14s defeating Parkes Marist Blue 44-32, setting up a grand final against fellow Forbes club, Red Bend.
Magpies also won the under 16s contest, defeating Red Bend 26-20 in extra time, and are now scheduled to meet Parkes Marist Blue for the premiership.
Red Bend Blues under 12s and 14s qualified for their respective grand finals two weeks ago, with victories against Parkes White and Parkes Blue respectively.
Red Bend under 10s completed their season on Saturday, beaten by West Wyalong at Condobolin’s Pat Timmins Oval.
Magpies junior club president Chris Morrison said the Forbes teams were looking forward to playing at West Wyalong’s recently redeveloped league headquarters this weekend.
Meanwhile, in senior Group 11 league, Forbes Magpies under 18s will meet Dubbo CYMS for a place in the grand final this Sunday.
CYMS defeated Dubbo Macquarie 28-16 in the qualifying final last Saturday to set up a match against the minor premiers in Parkes this Sunday.
