Emergency services were called to the scene, 20km west of Parkes on the Bogan Gate Road at around 4pm.
The vehicle veered off the road and hit a pine tree, snapping it off at the base.
The tree landed length ways along the car's roof only inches from the drivers head.
SES cut the woman free after removing the tree from the roof.
She is in a serious but stable condition with suspected, head, neck, spinal and chest injuries.
