A Renault 4CV car.
More than 100 people and 57 cars will converge on Forbes on Easter Sunday (April 5) as part of the 14th Renault 4CV Register of Australia Muster.
Every two years they choose a new and interesting venue to visit - the 2015 venue is Forbes and surrounding districts.
Parkes was used as a venue for a muster in 1997.
They will be coming from seven states - Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and the ACT.
The Muster has an array of cars - from the cute rear-engine 4CVs to the beautiful Florides and Caravelle.
One couple from America are even visiting Australia for this special event.
Some of these early 40s-50s’ Renaults are quite rare, and some have appeared in films.
Les Warren’s 1956 taxi has been used in James Bond movies and ‘Good Morning Vietnam’.
They plan to journey throughout Forbes and Eugowra to Manildra, where they will see a vintage comedy at the Amusu Theatre.
They will travel to Parkes to see the Henry Parkes Centre, the Radio Telescope, and have lunch at the Dish Café.
The rest of the time will be spent exploring the Central West and it’s many attractions.
The cars will be on display at Forbes Town Hall for a photo shoot from 8.30 am to 9am on Easter Saturday and Forbes Information Centre (Old Railway) from 10am to 10.30am on Easter Sunday.
They will also be on display at the Henry Parkes Centre from 11am to 12pm on Easter Sunday.
The organisers wish to thank Shannons, John Davis Motors (Orange and Forbes) and Forbes Shire Council for their sponsorship and support.
When you see these vehicles, give them a good Australian cheer.
