The Forbes Showgirl committee are encouraging local girls aged between 17 and 24 to sign up to be a part of this year’s competition.
There are currently two entrants in the showgirl competition but organisers are hoping for more girls to get on board this fantastic experience.
“It’s a great experience for personal development and gaining confidence,” Forbes Showgirl coordinator and 2013 Showgirl, Annabelle Green said.
“It’s about giving back to the community, giving a voice to the community and it’s great for the CV.
“It’s a chance to build new friendships and professional networks.
“You can certainly learn a lot from it and I feel as though I’m more aware of our community and the issues we strive for and our strengths.”
An information night will be held at 6pm on Monday, July 13 at Forbes Services Memorial Club for anyone interested in being a showgirl.
Everyone is welcome to attend the information evening to find out everything they need to know about the competition and will be given forms to fill out and return in August.
Judging will then take place on Saturday, September 5 and the showgirls will be presented to the community at the Show Ball that night.
