Organisers of this year’s Forbes Motor Show are elated with the response to the event, which drew an estimated 3000 people to Grinsted Oval last Sunday.

President of the organising committee, Ian ‘Bart’ Bartholomaeus, said the motorshow’s appeal seems to be growing, both with exhibitors and onlookers.
Perfect spring weather also helped draw plenty of spectators.
“A huge success - it seems to be growing bigger every year,” Bart said of Sunday’s show.
“Entries were up on last year - we had good numbers of cars, trucks and bikes, and I think we’re getting a bigger variety of entries and from further afield too,” he said.
While not all of the vehicles on display were entered in one of the 33 award categories, Bart said organisers estimated there were about 250 on show, with approximately 3000 people passing through the gates.
A jet-boating display on the adjacent Lake Forbes by Cowra boat owner David Moodie was particularly popular.
Bart said all parties seemed happy with the response to Sunday’s show, including the vendors, spectators and the owners of the machines.
“The committee had a quick briefing on Sunday after it wrapped up and although we were down [on entries] a little with the trucks and bikes, I’d say [this year] would be well and truly up there with the biggest,” he said.
He admitted it would be hard to top last weekend’s show next year.
“I don’t know how we can make it much better, but hopefully between myself and the committee, we can come up with something bigger and better to attract the crowds next year.
“The committee worked really well together on the day and it’s great to see all the hard work you put in come to fruition - it makes the whole effort worthwhile.”
Forbes Motor Show profits are donated back to the community - with this year’s major beneficiary to be Riding for the Disabled. However Bart said other community groups will be invited to lodge expressions of interest later in the year to receive a proportion of the 2015 show’s proceeds.
Bart thanked all who made Sunday’s show a success, with particular mention to Forbes Shire Council for their help organising the jet boat display on Lake Forbes, which is usually off limits to powered vessels.
