Approximately 40 people registered for the junior basketball competition on Saturday evening and committee members know of more people planning to register this coming Saturday.
“We’re pretty happy with that,” Forbes Basketball Association committee member Gavin Montgomery said. “We had no idea how many would turn up, we wanted to get as many as we can to get started and build on that.”
Registration is $60 which is for the whole year and includes a basketball, singlet and backpack.
“All you need after that is a pair of shoes,” Mr Montgomery said.
Referees are still needed for the competition, so if you have experience or would like to give it a go, call Gavin on 0418 986 553.
A second registration day will be held this Saturday from 6pm and all are welcome to bring their basketballs for a casual game.
The competition will kick off on Monday, February 8 with Aussie Hoops for under 10s and a three on three comp for the under 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s.
