Hurford played with the Lachlan representative team in the carnival in the school holidays.
The fast bowler, who also captained Forbes’ unbeaten under 14s team this summer, collected nine wickets in six games for Lachlan.
Hurford had two stand-out performances against Bathurst and Wagga Wagga, claiming three wickets for 13 runs.
In the Bathurst game, he claimed the major scalp of Sam Mitchell who had scored two double-centuries in recent games.
The carnival is based in historic Bowral and games were played in Mossvale, Bowral and Mittagong.
The Lachlan side made it through to the semi-finals of the competition, where they defeated Wagga Wagga.
Bathurst went on to win the carnival.
One of the highlights of the four-day competition was the chance to meet current Australian player Nathan Lyon at the Bradman Museum.
