The Forbes Food Revolution team encourage the community to come out to support tomorrow’s event, even if the weather turns nasty.
There’ll be marquees and seating available so people can be sheltered from the weather and won’t have to sit on the ground.
There will also be some delicious hot food available including pizza and Iranian cuisine, perfect to take the chill off a cold winter’s day.
The free community event will kick off from 9am tomorrow at Victoria Park and will run through until 12pm.
There’s plenty on offer for all ages to enjoy - the kids will be kept entertained with facepainting by Bunnings, pot up and take home seedling workshops run by the CWA Evening Branch and fruity faces with Forbes Neighbourhood Watch, while a number of demonstrations will be running throughout the day for the adults including gardening demonstrations sponsored by Bunnings, a butchering demonstration by Stephen Tamplin from Pride of Oak Tablelands Premier Meats, a non-alcoholic cider demonstration by Small Acres Cyder and cooking demonstrations by Forbes North Public School chef Tammy Montgomery.
All the equipment for the gardening demonstrations has been supplied by Bunnings and at the end of the day it will all be given away as prizes.
Everyone who attends the event will be in the running to win a prize.
Forbes Youth Advisory Committee members will be dressed up as fruit and veggies and will be handing out free tickets on the day to win the gardening supplies.
The event will also be running in conjunction with the Forbes Farmers’ Market, so there will be plenty of market stalls on offer selling a variety of fresh produce.
The Forbes Food Revolution team also held their last Real Food Tasting session on Thursday.
Forbes North Public School K/1R were the final group to participate with a total of 690 children - every student in kindergarten to year two, plus preschoolers - being involved in the workshops all up over the past month.
