Artists invited include both local Forbes artisans plus some from surrounding districts. The night will be an amazing opportunity to view professional works in various mediums and techniques.
Entry is $5 and includes two tickets in the lucky door price from interior design and ceramic artist Shelly Campton, of SCID Studio – Interior Design and Ceramics based in Forbes.
There will be drinks, nibbles and music on the night provided by the talented James Whalan from the Forbes Conservatorium.
There will be a raffle running with tickets to go on sale now and at the event.
First prize winner will take home the “Old Barn” a beautiful rural shearing shed scene between Forbes and Grenfell on pastel by Central Coast Artist Col Darley.
Second prize is a wheelbarrow filled with fresh produce and meat donated by Kenny’s Baa Moo Oink Meats, and third prize, six bottles of wine donated by Bernardi’s Marketplace Supa IGA and Liquor.
There will also be an auction on the night of a second piece kindly donated by Col, which is a stunning, vibrant Sofala streetscape scene of oil, pen and ink on card titled “A Summer’s Day in Sofala”.
This year, along with the professional works that will be on display and available for sale, St. Laurence’s is running a Junior Amateur Art Competition, to be judged by one of the exhibiting artists.
This gives local children an exciting opportunity to display and compete in this type of arena.
Three age categories are provided: Infants – Animals, Primary - Happiness and Secondary - Abstract, in any medium, to A3 size including any frame and ready to hang.
Invitations have been sent to all local schools to invite children to participate. Do you have a budding artist at home? A high school student who loves art?
This is their opportunity! Here is the chance for them to display their work and be in the running to win some great prizes.
There will be an opportunity for students and children, or other community members unable to make it on the Friday night, to view all the artwork with an adult on Friday afternoon, or again Saturday morning between 9 and 10 am for a gold coin donation.
The evening event will be for parents, friends and all other guests to enjoy.
