A group of local artisans are running a Christmas market for locals this Thursday evening.

Ceramicist Shelly Campton is opening the doors of her studio SCID with Sagawa Coffee, Justin Walker Fine Furniture and Woolerina products as well.
Ms Campton said she learned the slip-casting technique of ceramics during her studies in interior design, and what was a hobby in the craft has become a business in the past eight months.
The slip-casting technique involves using a plaster cast and liquid clay to create pieces.
“I create mostly functional ware,” she explained. “Plates, cups and bowls.”
Stocked in Orange, Mudgee and the Platypus Gallery, on Thursday she will have a range of handmade, local gifts, one-off pieces and more on offer on Thursday between 8.30am and 6pm.
The other businesses will also have local stock on offer, giving you the chance to pick up something local and unique as you plan for Christmas.
SCID Studio is at Shed 5-6, 4 Sam Street (behind Central West Glazing).
Don’t forget there is a Christmas market at Jemalong Residential Village today (Tuesday) from 10am to 2pm.
There are all your favourite traditional market stalls from JRV as well as offerings from local businesses.
Tuesday’s market day will raise funds to provide additional special mobile chairs for the dining room – the chairs are on rollers so that it is easier to move residents with mobility issues in and out from the tables.
It is all indoors, in the air conditioning and away from the flies.
