Parents of struggling readers are invited to a free dyslexia seminar at the Forbes Services Memorial Club on Thursday March 9 at 7pm.
10 – 15% of Australians have dyslexia, a disorder that involves difficulty in learning to read or interpret words, letters and other symbols. With the growing rate of children in the local area, Marianne Mullally thinks she can help.
“Many people go un-diagnosed, struggle with literacy at school and then continue to struggle later life.” Marianne, Seminar Speaker and Sydney-based dyslexia specialist practitioner, said.
“With every prep child now to be screened for dyslexia under a new program, the question for many parents is what to do next?”
This free Seminar will be 90 minutes of tips, insight and practical knowledge about what dyslexia is and how parents can help their children get over the reading hump.
There will be two speakers: Marianne Mullally, Dyslexia Expert, Author of the up-coming book Dyslexia Answered and parent of a dyslexic child.
She has over 10,000 hours of clinical experience working with more than 400 dyslexic adults and children over the past 11 years. Marianne has trained in dyslexia with world leading experts in America.
Marianne will be joined by Tom Mullally, a dyslexia sufferer now turned entrepreneur in the social media marketing space.
“The inability to read, write and understand the meaning of words is a serious issue causing children and adults anxiety, low self-esteem, depression and seriously limits employment,” said Marianne.
There has been a significant increase in demand for her services from parents living outside the city area, so Marianne decided she had to develop something to assist those in rural areas. This resulted in a full step-by-step on-line program parents could do to help their children at home.
Tickets to this seminar are FREE to the local community. It’s on at the Forbes Services Memorial Club.
