Artists Karen Ritchie and Kathryn Lewis brought the exhibition together, featuring local people and the places they love.
The subjects – who included David Acheson, Rob and Olya Willis, Elaine Imrie, Murray Field and Michael Walker – got their first glimpse of the finished artworks at the opening on Friday night.
“The evening was great,” Karen said.
Family and friends looked at how the Kathryn had captured the local identities in portraits, while the subjects explored how the the places that meant most to them had been portrayed by Karen.
“I expected people to articulate a place, but most of the time they were talking about family, friends, community – more of an intangible thing,” Karen said.
“What came through was a very strong connection to Forbes, to the community, and a great love of the town of Forbes.”
The exhibition is open throughout this month.
