Thefts, break-ins and malicious damage

An offender stole a wallet from a Hurford Place home while the occupants slept last Thursday night.

The wallet was found in the yard with nothing missing, a police spokesperson said.

Offenders have also rummaged through a ute at a neighbouring home, at this stage nothing has been reported stolen. 

In a separate incident, a significant quantity of chocolates and soft drinks have been stolen from a local sporting club.

Offenders have cut the steel mesh of the canteen to gain access – some time between June 3 and June 23, police said.

Solar panels were stolen from a dam on private property on the Bogan Gate Road between Thursday, June 21 and Saturday, June 23. 

Two windows of the Council chambers have been smashed in a malicious damage attack.

Police said it appeared the axle had been removed from a wheelie bin in a laneway and used to smash the windows, between 5pm Saturday and 10.30am Sunday.

A Stihl brand, petrol-powered leaf blower has been stolen from a Glocester Street residence.

The leaf blower was stolen from the home’s garage between Thursday, June 21 and Sunday, June 24.

A drill and battery jumper pack were stolen from another Gloucester Street home some time on June 21.

Police are urging residents to be particularly vigilant about home security, and to remove valuables from vehicles as well.

Police were busy with proactive measures on the weekend, carrying out several person and vehicle searches on people and vehicles believed to be attending locations suspicious to police. 

Neither individual person searches nor vehicle searches, on Friday and Saturday nights, resulted in anything of interest being found.
