Cara the Wedge Tailed Eagle came in at 63 days old. She was cared for by a WIRES Raptor carer in Young until she was ready for flight practice at which time she was transferred to another WIRES Raptor carer in Albury.
She was then returned for release back into the wild at a Caragabal property where she was originally discovered.
Her parents and a sibling were present at the time of release and she was 100% fit and ready to go!
WIRES would like to thank the property owners for their quick response in containing Cara and notifying WIRES, who then transferred her to a licensed specialist-trained carer with the correct facilities. This prompt action went a long way to ensure her successful release.
