The Championship is one of the largest female sporting events in the Southern Hemisphere, where over 3000 players in over 300 teams will compete over three days of competition.
Four age groups will be contested, from 12 years to 15 years, with Forbes NA represented in 12 years and 14 years in Division 3, playing Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the Eastwood Ryde netball courts.
The Forbes group will have many parents to support the two teams, when every team must have a coach, manager, primary carer and scorer for their bench for every game, plus lots of cheerers.
The Forbes Netball Association must also supply an umpire per team, plus one and will be represented by Aurella White, Hannah Staines and Karen Hargraves.
The FNA Committee and members wish all the players and umpires good luck, and play and umpire to the best of your ability and with outstanding sportsmanship, as all Forbes players have displayed over many years.

14 years
By coach Robyn Kenny
The 14 years team is made up of, Georgina Stitt (captain), Lauren Bate (vice-captain), Elsa Cusack, Gabby White, Ellie Flick, Ella Higgins, Amy Cusack, Tilly Aveyard. Coach Robyn Kenny, Manager Deb Bate, Primary Carer Kristy Butler.
The team has been training twice a week since early March, and attended regional training carnivals, where they have tasted success in their own age group.
The team played up an age group at many of the carnivals, to give them the extra match practice needed to compete successfully this weekend, in the higher division of division 3.
The team of Georgina Stitt, Lauren Bate, Ellie Flick and Ella Higgins have all successfully tasted the demanding competition of State Age Championships in their own age group of 13 and 12 years, over the past two years, with Gabby White playing in the 12 years age group in 2017, and Elsa Cusack, Amy Cusask and Tilly Aveyard all competing for the first time at State Age Championships.
The team has trained with determination and has improved dramatically during the training season.
Regional training carnivals for match practice have been few and far between over the last period, but all the girls have tried their hardest to improve and have bonded extremely well, to form a very competitive team.
There will be a parade of banners to open the championships at 8am on Saturday, with games starting at 9-30 am, where the Forbes 14s will play Casino, Great Lakes, Barellan, Ballina and Wollondilly, with Nelson Bay, Muswellbrook, Southern Highlands, Tamworth and Singleton all in the running for top honours with Forbes, over the three days.
The 14s will play 6 games on Saturday, 7 games on a huge day on Sunday, and 5 games and a bye on Monday.
Under 12s
By coach Lyn Ford
The 2018 Forbes 12s rep team have had a busy lead up to State Age Championships. The girls have been attending two training sessions each week for the last 3 months, as well as attending 6 training carnivals, and keeping up with other sporting, school and personal commitments.
There have been a few problems with illness and injury, but these girls continue to “soldier on”. The girls have all shown personal improvement, and although I feel we are lacking in match fitness, I am sure they will perform well at State Age.
I am enjoying this time coaching this group of young ladies, who are not only enthusiastic and positive girls, but who all share a great sense of humour and a great team spirit.
The team consists of Isla Worland, Tanesha Riddle, Andie Hodder, Katie Crouch, Ella White, Ebonnie Hopley, Ava Hui, Kate Stephenson, Bella Walker and Coco Gracie, along with Manager Felicity Worland, Primary Carer Juliet Hodder and great supportive parents. I look forward to reporting on some positive results on our return.
