Heats of the competition will be held in September, October, November and December at Cowra, Manildra, Bathurst, Parkes, Orange, Dubbo, Young, Millthorpe and Mudgee.
Organisers say the ultimate goal of the competition is to create pathways for regional skateboarders after skateboarding has, for the first time, been included in the Olympics for the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Regional champions will be crowned during a final in Orange on the January 20, 2019 acting as a qualifier for state titles.
A spokesperson for the NSW Office of Sport said they are working on the events with regional local government as well as the Australian Skateboarding Federation and Bluntside Sk8 Park Tours.
“There are four divisions per competition, so essentially anyone and everyone, at a cost of $5 per entry,” the Office of Sport spokesperson said.
Competitors will be split into four divisions, U12s mixed, U16s mixed, Womens and Opens.
Skateboarding, scootering and BMX riding will feature dependent on interest. The heat venues will be:
- Manildra – September 9.
- Bathurst – September 16.
- Cowra – October 3.
- Parkes – October 6.
- Orange – October 10.
- Dubbo – October 13.
- Young – November 11.
- Milthorpe – November 18.
- Mudgee – December 1.
- Orange (Final) – January 20, 2019
