With the start of the school holidays upon us, there are a number of activities planned for all ages by Forbes Shire Council at the Youth and Community Centre on Battye Street.

Chalk Art and Crafternoon: 12pm to 5pm, Wednesday, October 3. Get your artistic hat on for an afternoon of chalk graffiti and creation.
Board games and Trivia: 12pm to 5pm, Thursday, October 4. Head down to the Youth and Community Centre to test your skills.
Shrek Movie Marathon: 12pm to 5pm. On Friday, October 5, the Youth and Community Centre will be screening of the first two movies about everybody’s favourite ogre and donkey.
Popcorn, drinks and a BBQ will be provided while watching Shrek (2001, rated PG) and Shrek 2 (2004, rated PG).
Fun for Kids Tour: 3pm to 8pm, Tuesday, October 9. Get your dance shoes on for an afternoon of activities hosted by the PCYC. Starting at 3pm is a range of multi-sport activities.
After a BBQ dinner break at 5pm, you can hit the dance floor for a dance party.
Indigenous Culture Day: 12pm to 5pm. On Thursday, October 11, head down to the Youth and Community Centre to learn about Indigenous dances and language.
Movie Screening at the YACC: Between 12pm to 5pm on Friday, October 12, the Youth and Community Centre will be hosting a free movie screening of Trolls (2016, rated PG). Popcorn, drinks and a BBQ will be provided.
Just in time for the school holidays is the re-opening of the Forbes Olympic Swimming Pool.
The pool is set to be open on Monday, October 1 through to Sunday, March 31 from 6am to 7pm.
The Forbes Olympic Swimming Pool will be open everyday, weather permitting, except on Christmas Day and Good Friday.
The Forbes Services Memorial Club cinema is also open throughout the holidays, one that might be of interest to the kids is Christopher Robin, it’s screening twice a day this week.
Teen Titans Go! To The Movies is also screening twice daily at the club cinema.

To round out the school holidays will be the ‘Gone Fishing Day’ on Sunday, October 14.
So dig out your fishing rod from the garage and head down to Forbes Apex Lakeside Park between 9am and 3pm.
