Our next event is the 1st Biennial Spring Flower and Rose Show which is to be held on Saturday, afternoon October 13 at the Services Memorial Club, opening at 1.30pm (close 4.30pm), entry $2.00 each. Afternoon tea for purchase will be from the club’s Coffee Bar.
Everyone is welcome to enter, so help us fill the benches to make a top display.
On the Friday afternoon before at 1.00pm stewards and helpers are asked to be at the Services Memorial Club to help set up the tables etc, members can bring their entries between 3pm and 4pm on that afternoon to be early if suitable.
Otherwise it will be an early rise on the Saturday morning for entrants, with entries taken from 7.30am until 9.30am sharp when doors will close. Judging is to start at 10.00am.
If you have any spring flowers, roses, cut flowers, geraniums, shrubs/creepers etc, and vegetables we would love to have them, help us fill the benches and make a huge display. Should you have a floral art entry, we ask that you phone (6852 1169) so we can allow space.
The year of 2016 we had 621 entries in all, can we do the same this year, let us try.
This year we will have artwork from some Forbes North Forbes School children on display who are under the guidance of Mrs Nixon.
Help fill those sections, it is assured there is a section for you. Schedules at Railway Tourist Centre, Forbes Handicraft Centre, and Hozpots. No plant stall this year.
To our sponsors who once again helped, we say a huge thankyou for your assistance. The year 2016 was the 61st Forbes Spring Flower and Rose Show, with 2018 being the first year for the Forbes Biannual Spring Flower and Rose Show.
