THE Great Western Highway is closed in a westerly direction in the Blue Mountains following a two-truck crash.

The incident occurred just after 11am on Wednesday, near the intersection of Coughlan Road at Blaxland.
Emergency services are on scene, along a heavy vehicle tow truck.

Westbound motorists are being diverted via: Kidman Street, Murphy Street, Haymet Street, Grahame Street and Layton Avenue to re-join the Great Western Highway.
A statement by the Blue Mountains Police Area Command said an investigation into the crash was ongoing.
At this stage, Australia Community Media is unaware if there have been any injuries sustained during the incident.
