The mercury dropped to -4 degrees at Forbes airport on Thursday morning, and only reached 9 degrees all day.
Friday's conditions aren't expected to be much warmer, with a morning low of -2 and a forecast top temperature of 11 degrees.
And that's only the beginning. Both Saturday and Sunday mornings are forecast to hit -4 degrees with fog expected Saturday and frost Sunday.
The days should clear to be a little warmer, a top of 14 and sunny conditions are expected Saturday afternoon.
What we'd all like to see in the experts' expectations is a chance of rain.
So far this month Forbes has recorded just 5.6mm, that's well short of our average rainfall for the period of 55.6mm.
