In September, Forbes Men's Probus Club was treated to a very informative and interesting presentation by Jenny Bennett, Executive Officer of Central NSW Joint Organisation, formerly CENTROC (Central West Region of Councils).

The new organisation was proclaimed on 11th May 2018 and is hoped to lead to better inter-council cooperation, regional water, transport and infrastructure policies as well as many other initiatives.
Jenny's speech was followed by many questions from the audience. Jenny was introduced by Alister Lockhart OAM and was warmly thanked by David Williams.
The meeting was attended by 40 members and one guest. Club President Ian Thomas inducted new member David Nock.
The speaker for Friday October 25 is Kurt Drewes who is Chief Engineer with Vast Solar at Jemalong.

Ladies Probus President Jennifer Purdie welcomed 40 ladies, and a visitor Debbie Haley in September.
Marg Applebee was introduced by Carmel Murray on the subject of Landcare.
Her presentation showed many aspects of her work including her involvement in schools organising fundraising planting trees working with local organizations to look after our environment.
She is very passionate about her work and had us all aware of our land and keeping it clean for future generations Jennifer thanked her for her interesting talk and presented her with a gift.
We wished five of our members who had celebrated their birthdays this month good health and happiness and were sorry to hear of two members who had hospital stays.
After the minutes of the previous meeting were read Judy Ellis gave an insight of the play we saw in Orange "Rainbows End" which was set in the 1950s.
Judy Girot read some interesting paragraphs from Down Under by author Bill Bryson. It was quite amusing in places and had us all enthralled.
Our guest speaker on Friday will be Monica Wren from Carrawobbity who will update on her improvements made on her home and B&B.
