The Lachlan Valley Fishing Club hosted the carpathon locally, encouraging families to come on down to the lake and be part of it.
Families lined the banks of the Lake on a perfect Sunday morning - sunny with a cool breeze - for the occasion.
The club's Gavin Montgomery said they had a great day out, with a young angler reeling in the day's major prizes for his catch.
About 50 participants, most of them young, took home a fishing rod and loot bag with thanks to Fisheries NSW.
The whole idea was to encourage more families to get their kids out fishing and it certainly did that.
Gavin and the fishing club hope they'll continue to enjoy their new pastime.
The day's major prizes were a swag and a camping chair and the winner's secret, Gavin said, was boilies.
These little balls include flour, jelly, eggs and corn and more - recipes and even video tutorials are available online if you'd like to give them a try.
