Forbes soccer stars to play with Western NSW FC

Western NSW Football Club, formerly known as Western NSW Mariners, brings together players from around the region to play in the elite Football NSW competitions for development and further opportunity.

Eleven players from Forbes will play for the representative side across six teams based on age.

Emily Schulz will join the Under 10 girls squad along with Josephine Mckenzie, who will also join the Under 12 girls team.

Lily Browne, Katie Schulz and Elizabeth Brindle will join Josephine in playing in the Under 12 girls team.

Abby Nolan-Hodges will join the Western NSW Football Club's Under 15 girls team.

Charlie Walder will join the Under 9 boys team, while Luca Bet, Karma Dechen and Tom Glasson will join the Under 12 boys team.

Samuel Motley will join the Western NSW Football Club's Under 13 boys team.

The local players travelled to Orange's Jack Brabham Park between November 3 to November 6 to trial for the Western NSW FC.

Travelling and getting new experience in soccer were some of the reasons why they wanted to be a part of Western NSW FC.

Tom Glasson said he wanted to be a part of the Western NSW FC Club because he would be able to travel around the state and get to play against teams and people he wouldn't usually be able to.

Abby Nolan-Hodges said one of the reasons she joined the Western NSW FC squad was to learn and improve upon new techniques.

The players will split their time training locally and in Orange with other players from Western NSW FC.

The 2020 season will begin on February 22 and February 23 for the Under 12 boys and girls squads when they travel to Bathurst to compete in the Proctor Cup.

All Western NSW FC teams will head to Goulburn on March 8 for the NSW Country Region Gala Day, Goulburn.

The NSW Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) and Youth League season commences on April 1, while the Western NSW Youth League season begins on May 3.
