The team has entered the division 1 of the competition, and certainly displayed their skill and talent throughout the day.
Taking on the big associations of Orange, Bathurst and Dubbo, the Forbes team again improved dramatically throughout the day.
The games were played at high intensity and with great speed, and although no wins were recorded, there were many close calls, and all Forbes players were winners on the day.
The first game of the day was against Bathurst, where a tragic loss to co-captain and centre Joelene Grace with a knee injury, meant a reshuffle of the Forbes line up, in the first 5 minutes.
The team recovered well, and started to adjust to the higher standard of netball.
The score ended up with a win to Bathurst 28-15.
The next game was against Orange, and again all the Forbes players were adjusting to the pace and contesting every pass when in defence.
Orange ended up winning by 18-10.
Dubbo was the next opposition, and all the Forbes players were stepping up to the skills needed, with circle defenders Kate Longeragan and Nicole Mee, continually turning the ball over for their team.
The first half had Forbes ahead 10-8, with all players once again taking the court for the match, and Hannah Mattiske stopping some determined Dubbo attackers.
The game went goal for goal in the second half, with Dubbo just tipping over a win by 20-19.
The second round started with a new look Forbes team, who always had the never say die attitude, and at half time Bathurst were only one goal up 12-11.
Goal attack turned centre Shannon Hurley was working hard and combining well with wing attack Nat Carthew.
Once again, the game went goal for goal, with Bathurst ending up winning by 25-22.
The score line showed the improvement in the full team throughout the day.
The last game was against Orange, with the Forbes circle defenders of Kate Loneragan and Nicole Mee again showing their talents to be the best circle defenders in the competition.
A win to Orange was recorded, by 3 goals up in each half, and final score 21-15 to Orange.
Former Australian coach Jill McIntosh was in attendance during the day, and coach Robyn Kenny had nearly an hour of one on one mentoring with the outstanding coach.
Jill McIntosh is a brilliant coach wining 88 international matches and losing only six, during her time as Australian coach, being a 94% winning success rate..
Jill won 2 Commonwealth Games gold medals and 2 World Championships all of which were unbeaten campaigns.
Jill now mentors coaches all over world, and it was a highlight and privilege to have her mentoring coaches at Regional League.
Sunday will see day 2 of the NNSW Hart Regional League played with Forbes taking on Dubbo first up, then Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo for the final round.
All players are looking forward to the day, after another outstanding training session through the week, to prepare for the day.
Good luck to all the team, from the Forbes committee and members.
