Show team coordinator Rachel Eagles said the six dairy heifers are from the Eagles Partnership in Gooloogong and the students will be entering them in the dairy heifer section of the Forbes Show.
The team are working with a Holstein heifer named Marion owned by S and R Eagles, two Jersey heifers named 'Pinky Pie' and 'Apple Jack' owned by Bethany Eagles.
The other three dairy heifers the team are working with are Ayrshire's named GiGi and Ada, owned by the Eagles Partnership and Ivy Blossom, owned by Lilly Eagles.
The dairy heifers have been broken in by the cattle team and the students have been training them to walk on a lead as well as washing, drying and feeding them.
Mrs Eagles said working with the cattle for the Forbes Show is a great opportunity for the students to represent the school and meet local businesses.
"We've had a few students go into the dairy industry after being on the team."
The Forbes High School show team will begin working with beef steers and beef heifers next term in preparation for several shows in the region.
