Residents of Eugowra kept a watchful eye on the gauge at the Mandagery Creek bridge throughout Saturday.

They were able to relax a little when the peak of 8.85 was reached about 5pm, which was short of the predicted 9 to 9.1. This prediction was based on the reading of the gauge at Glenayr.
Local SES Commander, Greg Agustin, said they were very thankful to the number of local volunteers and members of the Eugowra Fire Brigade and those around the district, for the fantastic effort in filling and delivering sandbags around the town.
Altogether they filled and delivered 900 sandbags.
This was done with a sandbag filling machine and with shovels.
There were two utes with personnel and a rescue boat in attendance from Fire and Rescue of NSW.
While the flood water entered most backyards of residents along the Mandagery Creek, the water only entered one building.
This was the old bakery residence on Broad Street, and that was only a very small amount which went into a storage area.
Water covered the western end of Broad Street, North Street, Barrack Street, Chesher Street and Myall Streets.
Local SES Commander, Greg Agustin, said the SES unit was operational in this flood as it is in any flood event or other major event in Eugowra.
He went on to say that it was a good outcome for Eugowra and no damage had been caused.
