“When I started the research I was surprised to find the only information on the nurses of Forbes is what’s contained in the Forbes History Book,” Kerry said. “None of the usual repositories have anything.”
Kerry has located information on World War I Nurses from an online site however no such site exists for World War II.
The panels are due to be unveiled next month as part of Forbes Heritage 2018 and she is urging anyone with information and/or photos to contact her urgently.
“I have a little, but I know there’s more out there,” she said. “Everyone I’ve approached has been very generous with their knowledge and time. I’m hoping to be able to include more stories and photographs of the World War II women.”
