Students and teachers came along in their flannelette shirts and boots on Thursday, hoping to dance up the forecast storm.
It was all a good bit of fun for the school community, which has plenty of families affected by the drought.
Teacher Kelly Kennedy said students are feeling the effects of the drought as their parents work long hours to source feed and feed livestock.
Most of the students are either directly affected, or are related to people in the agricultural sector.
They all know people who are doing it tough, and are involved in the stress.
“Students need to have an understanding of what drought is,” Ms Kennedy said.
The school has been looking at the book “Drought” by Jackie French and Bruce Whatley.
“It’s been a great book to read across kinder to Year 6,” Ms Kennedy said. “It allows students to get an insight of what’s really happening in our community.”
