”The two teams traded tries for most of the game with both sides playing expansive football and scoring some exciting tries,” coach Nick Jones said.
“A few 50/50 calls didn’t go our way which had us defending for long periods – but the kids defended well and managed to score a late try to get within four points with two minutes to play. A late try to Cabonne saw them seal the game.”
Tries were scored by Ayden Flick, Sanjay Buttle, Zac Clayton and Max Hartwig. Goal kickers were Riley Goodsell, Kaze Read and Bradman Hardy. Other players who shone on grand final day were Ayden Flick, Zac Clayton and Kaze Read.
Hugh Mackay won the District’s JRL u/12s best and fairest runner up award.
“I was very proud of the players’ effort and attitude all season and they can be very proud of what they achieved this year,” Jones said.
