Red Bend Catholic College has advised that due to the impact on College Road of the expected flood peak, the College has closed from Monday morning until further notice for Year 7 to 11 classes.
Students will return to online learning for this time.
HSC students were advised through the school Facebook page that buses would run normally unless there were road closures. This already impacted Cowra, Grenfell and Canowindra.
Forbes is expected to experience major flooding, possibly similar to 2016 levels, and a flood evacuation advice has been issued for residents of some parts of town.
Volunteers - both local and from surrounding communities - rolled up their sleeves over the weekend to fill and distribute sandbags and to doorknock residents most likely to be most impacted.
As of Monday morning, we were still waiting on flood waters to peak at Nanami to give an indication of river heights for Forbes. Find the Monday morning advisory and river heights here.
The water is now impacting roads to and from Forbes, for the most up-to-date information at all times go to LiveTraffic or Forbes Shire Council.
