Incredible Nedd Brockmann has been named a finalist for NSW Young Australian of the Year.
Nedd has been making headlines, but also inspiring thousands, since he challenged himself to go the distance to raise funds for people facing homelessness.
Moving from Bedgerabong and Forbes to Sydney, Nedd’s concern was sparked by his journey into TAFE every week where he saw too many people sleeping rough on Sydney's Eddy Avenue.
He wanted to do something to highlight homelessness, its complexities and prove that it's solvable.
It started with 50 marathons in 50 days.
In 2022 at the age of 23, the electrician raised the bar, running from Perth’s Cottesloe Beach to Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, completing a 3,952km journey over 46 days.
In 2024 he set himself another goal: to run 1000 miles in 10 days - hitting the distance in a little over 12 days.
At the same time, he started Nedd’s Uncomfortable challenge and with his team, has raised more than $8 million for Mobilise, to change lives through innovative programs to reduce the number of people sleeping rough.
