For the past five weeks, students from Forbes Public School and Forbes North Public School have been coming together every Friday for a special sporting initiative.

The program has seen students from years three to six enjoying a variety of sports and activities at the Botanical Gardens, Stephen's Field, the netball courts and the walking track around Lake Forbes.

Forbes High School students have also joined in on the fun stepping up as referees, encouraging fair play and building their own leadership skills.

Forbes North has said students have embraced the opportunity with enthusiasm, trying out new sports and making the most of the chance to connect with peers from Parkes Public.

The weekly sporting activities aim to promote physical activity as well as encourage students and teachers from each school to build a connection.
